This trial tests if powdered blueberries can help older adults with depression feel better and become more active by reducing inflammation.

Eligibility Criteria
This trial is for sedentary adults aged 65 or older with mild depressive symptoms. Participants must spend a lot of time sitting and not have cognitive impairments, diabetes, substance abuse issues, severe psychiatric disorders, inflammatory bowel conditions, allergies to the products used in the study, or be taking certain medications like antibiotics or antidepressants.Inclusion Criteria

Screening
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial
Washout
Participants avoid consumption of foods high in fiber and anthocyanins and wear an activity monitor
Treatment
Participants consume either freeze-dried blueberry powder or placebo powder daily, with assessments at baseline, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks
Follow-up
Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment
