Study Summary

This trial will study how well a telemedicine intervention works to manage hypertension, as well as barriers and facilitators to the use of telemedicine.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults with high blood pressure who've been on stable blood pressure medication for the last six weeks. Participants must own a smartphone, speak and read English, and have had systolic blood pressure over 140mmHg in their last two clinic visits. It's not suitable for those with recent health changes affecting blood pressure stability, terminal illnesses, or conditions that complicate home-based self-assessments.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing how well managing high blood pressure works through telemedicine—a way to provide healthcare remotely using technology like smartphones. The focus is on understanding what helps or hinders this approach, its acceptability to patients and health workers, and how faithfully it can be followed.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves management techniques rather than medications or medical procedures, traditional side effects are not expected. However, participants may experience issues related to the use of technology such as privacy concerns or technical difficulties.
