TIDE Trial Summary

This trial will test a package of linguistically appropriate discharge teaching tools to improve patient understanding & key outcomes for those with Limited English Proficiency.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for patients at Boston Medical Center who prefer Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, or Vietnamese and are being discharged home. Participants must be adults admitted to specific units and have family/visitors present at discharge. Excluded are those with cognitive issues, certain infections or on suicide precautions.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests a set of tools designed to help patients with limited English understand their discharge instructions better. These include a medication calendar in multiple languages, pictographics for return precautions, and an audio summary review.See study design
