LINK2 Trial Summary

This trial will develop and implement a youth service navigation intervention to improve linkage and retention among those at risk for incarceration and youth with HIV who have recently experienced incarceration or arrest, with the goal of reducing HIV prevalence among this population.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for HIV+ youth aged 16-25 who are either currently incarcerated with a sentence under 12 months or have been arrested in the last year. Participants must be non-cis women, fluent in English, and planning to live in specified counties of Illinois or California. It's also open to those at risk for incarceration due to factors like mental illness or substance use.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The LINK2 study tests a Youth Services Navigation (YSN) intervention designed to help these young people access services along the continuum of HIV care post-incarceration. The trial will compare this new approach against standard care, looking at how well it improves linkage to care, retention, adherence to ART, and viral suppression.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves navigation and support services rather than medication, traditional side effects are not expected. However, participants may experience varying levels of emotional discomfort when discussing personal issues related to their health and incarceration history.
