Emotion Regulation Training for Depression and Cardiovascular Disease Risk
Study Summary
This trial will investigate whether a single session of emotion regulation training can reduce cardiovascular disease risk in young adults with depression living in Southern Mississippi. Before and after the skills training session, participants will supply several biological metrics tied to CVD risk: resting HRV, inflammation (measured via c-reactive protein [CRP]), and blood pressure.

- You are currently diagnosed with major depressive disorder.You do not speak English fluently.You are currently having thoughts of wanting to harm yourself.You have a disease that causes inflammation and affects your immune system, such as rheumatoid arthritis or ulcerative colitis.You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, a substance use disorder, or bipolar disorder.
- Group 1: Intervention Arm
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
