- I started TKI therapy over a year ago.I have a condition like a severe brain injury or uncontrolled diabetes that could affect my thinking.I experience memory and concentration issues due to my GIST treatment, scoring 10 or below on the FACT-Cog.I have had cancer before, but not skin cancer.I have had brain surgery or treatment for my brain.I have been treated with chemotherapy for a condition other than my current cancer.I am 18 years old or older.I have been diagnosed with a gastrointestinal stromal tumor.I have been treated with a tyrosine kinase inhibitor for a condition other than GIST.
- Group 1: Memory and Attention Adaptation Training (MAAT)
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.

What are the projected results of this experiment?
"The primary measured outcome of this study, which will be tracked over 8 (or up to 12) weekly MAAT visits, is the Controlled Oral Word Association Test (COWAT). Secondary objectives include a PROMIS Item Bank analysis on Anxiety- Short Form 8a., FACT-Cog PCI and PROMIS Item Bank -Emotional Distress - Short Form 8a. These assessments use 5- point Likert ratings that produce four distinct scales: Quality of life, Cognitive Impairments, Comments from Others and Perceived Abilities; while emotional distress results are indicated by higher scores."
