OPS Trial Summary

This trial will study how best to equip police officers to reduce overdose deaths, which are currently the leading cause of accidental death in the United States.

Who is the study for?
This trial is specifically for active duty police officers. It aims to evaluate their willingness and preparedness to administer naloxone, a medication used to counter the effects of opioid overdose. Officers who are not on active duty or only work at desks are excluded from participating.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing the effectiveness of two web-based training programs: OPS (Opioids and Police Safety Occupational Risk Reduction Training) and its COVID-adapted version. These programs aim to improve safety practices among police when dealing with opioid-related incidents.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves educational interventions rather than medical treatments, there are no direct side effects like those associated with drugs or medical procedures. However, participants may experience stress or emotional discomfort related to the subject matter.
