OPS Trial Summary
This trial will study how best to equip police officers to reduce overdose deaths, which are currently the leading cause of accidental death in the United States.
Who is the study for?
This trial is specifically for active duty police officers. It aims to evaluate their willingness and preparedness to administer naloxone, a medication used to counter the effects of opioid overdose. Officers who are not on active duty or only work at desks are excluded from participating.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing the effectiveness of two web-based training programs: OPS (Opioids and Police Safety Occupational Risk Reduction Training) and its COVID-adapted version. These programs aim to improve safety practices among police when dealing with opioid-related incidents.See study design

Group I: Opioids and Police Safety Occupational Risk Reduction TrainingExperimental Treatment1 Intervention
Provides occupational risk reduction training for police in 49 slides including 8 filmed videos (police officers, MDs, SSP staff, a person in recovery). The training is delivered online with secure access only for enrolled study participants.
Group II: COVID Occupational Risk Reduction TrainingActive Control1 Intervention
The COVID-19 and Police Safety training (Control only) includes 22 slides, also narrated by a professional voice narrator.

This trial has 1 awards, including:- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
