Study Summary

This trial will compare the effectiveness of virtual culinary medicine classes to standard of care medical nutrition visits to see if culinary medicine can help improve glycemic control in patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes who've been under primary care at Hatcher Station Health Center, haven't had a nutrition visit in the last year, have an A1C level ≥ 7.5%, and attended diabetes education sessions. It's not for those with severe kidney disease, hearing or communication issues, or without internet access.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study compares virtual culinary medicine classes—combining cooking and nutrition education—with standard medical nutrition visits to see which better improves blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes patients.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves educational interventions rather than medications, there are no direct side effects like you'd expect from drugs. However, participants may experience changes in diet that could affect their health.
