Study Summary

This trial will use bike ergometers to test the maximal aerobic capacity of people with Cystinosis Myopathy, in order to better understand the functional implications of the disease and how it progresses.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 18 to 60 with a confirmed diagnosis of Cystinosis, regardless of their ability to walk. It aims to understand how well they can tolerate exercise and help in designing exercise programs for health maintenance.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests the effects of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Exercise on muscle function in people with Cystinosis. Participants will undergo maximal aerobic capacity testing using a bike ergometer suitable for both walking and non-walking individuals.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
While specific side effects are not listed, HIIT may lead to increased fatigue, muscle soreness, or pain especially in individuals with underlying muscle dysfunction due to Cystinosis.
