CC-COVID Trial Summary

This trial will help to assess whether the Compass Course is efficacious in helping individuals who were hospitalized with COVID-19 to reframe a sense of self and reaffirm or reconstruct a sense of purpose in their daily lives.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 18-80 who were hospitalized with COVID-19 and are now part of the Allina Health COVID Research Registry or receiving therapy at CKRI. Participants must have completed high school, be able to use technology for video calls, commit to all sessions, own a smartphone, and speak English. Those with neurological disorders or conditions affecting daily activities cannot join.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The Compass Course intervention being tested aims to improve psychological well-being and purpose in life post-COVID-19 hospitalization. It includes education and support over eight sessions spanning 2-3 months focused on six dimensions of flourishing. Efficacy will be evaluated through questionnaires during a focus group session two months after completion.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves educational and supportive sessions rather than medical treatments, traditional side effects are not expected. However, participants may experience emotional discomfort while reflecting on personal experiences during the course.
