Study Summary

This trial is testing whether a low-radiation dose dynamic myocardial CT perfusion is as accurate as a static CTP in detecting coronary artery disease.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for people with severe chest pain despite treatment, who have documented coronary artery disease and can sign consent. They must be able to undergo angiography or CT angiography. Exclusions include allergies to iodine contrast media, kidney issues, certain heart conditions like uncontrolled arrhythmias or severe heart failure, recent heart surgeries or interventions, high radiation exposure history, and intolerance to specific medications.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests the safety and accuracy of low-radiation dynamic myocardial CT perfusion imaging versus static CTP in detecting significant coronary artery disease. Dynamic CTP involves serial imaging over time to measure blood flow changes using advanced scanners that reduce radiation dose.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Potential side effects may include allergic reactions to the contrast dye used during imaging (for those not already excluded due to known allergies), kidney function impairment from the dye (excluded if pre-existing condition), and exposure to a low level of radiation.

What criteria do individuals need to satisfy in order to join the trial?

"Eligible applicants for this coronary artery disease clinical trial should be aged between 45 and 85, with about 10 patients needed."

Answered by AI

Is enrollment for this research study still open?

"Unfortunately, this healthcare trial is not presently in need of participants. This medical study was originally posted on March 30th 2018 and last updated on January 10th 2022. But luckily, there are still 910 other trials actively looking for patients at present."
