Study Objectives

Clinical remission derived from patient reported outcomes
Decrease in endoscopic Mayo score for ulcerative colitis inflammation
Secondary outcome measures
Intestinal inflammation determined from blood and stool samples
Urinary excretion of lactulose and 13C-Mannitol
