OCEAN Trial Summary

This trial aims to see if combining a Latin dance program with a tailored diet helps slow cognitive decline in older Latinos.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for older Latinos aged 50+ at risk of cognitive decline due to cardiovascular disease or its risk factors, or a family history of Alzheimer's. Participants should be physically inactive, have some cognitive function intact (TICs-m >21), and not already engaged in structured dance programs. They must understand Spanish, have internet access, and pass a health screening.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study compares the effects on cognition between two groups: one doing the BAILAMOS™ Latin dance program with a MIND diet intervention and another with the same dance program plus health education. Participants are randomly assigned to these groups to see which combination better supports cognitive function.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
While specific side effects aren't listed for this trial, typical risks may include physical strain from dancing such as muscle soreness or injury, and dietary changes could potentially cause digestive adjustments.
