Study Summary

This trial will test whether a tablet game can improve memory and thinking skills in seniors with mild cognitive impairment, compared to tablet puzzles.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for older adults, aged 60 or above, with mild cognitive impairment. Participants must be able to use a tablet and have good vision and hearing (with aids if needed), speak English fluently, have access to a tablet for 8 weeks, and a study partner who can monitor their game play. Those on new cognitive medications or familiar with the games being tested cannot join.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study aims to see if playing a role-playing game on a tablet helps improve thinking skills better than doing word or image puzzles on the same device in older adults with mild brain function issues. It also looks at which activity keeps participants more engaged over an eight-week period.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-invasive activities like playing games on tablets, there are no direct medical side effects expected from participation. However, individuals may experience eye strain or minor physical discomfort from prolonged use of digital devices.
