iHOPE Trial Summary

This trial will test a program to help older adults with chronic pain improve physical and emotional function. Participants will take tests pre and post-intervention.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for older adults aged 55 or above who have chronic musculoskeletal pain lasting more than 3 months, with a moderate pain score of at least 4. Participants should be mentally fit to engage in the study and able to walk for six minutes under supervision. They must not have untreated psychotic disorders, substance use issues that could affect participation, or serious illnesses expected to worsen soon.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The GetActive+ program is being tested on its ability to improve physical and emotional function in older adults with chronic pain. This includes self-reported wellness, performance in a six-minute walk test, step count tracking, and overall satisfaction with the program. The trial will assess these outcomes before and after the intervention.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since GetActive+ is a mind-body activity program rather than a medication, it may include general exercise-related side effects such as muscle soreness or fatigue post-activity. However, specific side effects are not detailed as this is not a drug-based intervention.
