Study Summary
This trial found that a combination of yoga and CBT was more effective in treating pediatric chronic pain than CBT alone.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for English-speaking adolescents under 18 with chronic pain, who have parental consent and their own agreement to participate. Their caregivers must also agree to join the study. It's not for those with physical limitations or cognitive disabilities that would interfere with participation, non-English speakers, or if there's a risk of non-compliance.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests how well yoga combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps teens and their caregivers manage chronic pain. Over seven weeks, participants will engage in these mind-body practices to see if they reduce symptoms like anxiety and improve overall wellbeing.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves yoga and CBT, which are gentle interventions without drugs, side effects might be minimal but could include muscle soreness from yoga or emotional discomfort from discussing painful experiences during CBT.
