Study Summary

This trial tests a program that teaches caregivers of people with dementia improv skills to help them better provide care. 40 caregivers will attend weekly 2-hour sessions for 4 weeks to help enhance their self-perceived caregiving mastery.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for informal caregivers of people with moderate dementia who can attend at least 3 out of 4 training sessions, communicate in English, and provide feedback. Caregivers should be caring for someone not likely to be institutionalized within the next 6 months.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The 'Improving Care through Improv' program is being tested to see if it helps caregivers feel more capable (mastery) in their role. Participants will learn improv theater skills over weekly 2-hour sessions for a month and complete surveys about their experience.See study design
