INSPIRE Trial Summary

This trial will test a multi-level intervention designed to increase statin prescribing for people with HIV, which could reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for people aged 40 or older with HIV who are at higher risk of heart disease, either because they have high LDL cholesterol, diabetes with LDL over 70, a history of heart issues like attacks or strokes, or an estimated cardiovascular risk above 7.5% in the next ten years. Physicians caring for HIV patients can also participate.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests a new approach to encourage doctors to prescribe statins more often to HIV patients at risk of heart disease. It includes special education programs and feedback based on behavioral economics principles.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial focuses on educational interventions and provider feedback rather than direct medical treatments, there are no direct side effects from medications being tested.
