Study Summary

This trial tests effects of 8-weeks of Qigong/Tai Chi on physical and mental health (e.g. BMI, sleep, stress, etc.).

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults with a waist circumference of at least 35.5 inches for men or 31.5 inches for women, who own a smartphone or tablet. It's not suitable for individuals unable to stand or walk, those with severe heart arrhythmias, heart transplants, pacemakers, or who regularly practice meditative movements and HRVB training.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study compares two groups: one practicing Qigong/Tai Chi (QTC) and the other combining QTC with Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback (HRVB). Over eight weeks, it will measure changes in heart rate variability and cardiometabolic risk factors like body fat and stress levels.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves movement exercises and biofeedback rather than medication, side effects are minimal but may include muscle soreness or strain from physical activity.
