ABC ANSWERS Trial Summary

This trial will test a new intervention for people with Alzheimer's or TBI, and see how it affects their caregivers.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for Veterans over 18 with Alzheimer's or Traumatic Brain Injury receiving care from the VAMC, and their primary caregivers who plan to provide care for at least a year. Caregivers must not have serious illnesses that limit participation. Excluded are those in long-term facilities, involved in certain other studies, unable to be contacted after multiple tries, non-English speakers, or with severe mental illness.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study evaluates 'ABC ANSWERS', an intervention aimed at reducing caregiver burden and improving quality of life for family/friend caregivers of Veterans with Alzheimer's Disease or Traumatic Brain Injury. Participants will be compared against a control group to assess effectiveness.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial focuses on an intervention program rather than medication, traditional side effects are not applicable. However, participants may experience emotional distress or fatigue related to engagement in the program activities.
