SPTBI Trial Summary
This trial aims to improve sleep quality for veterans with TBI as a means to reduce pain and improve quality of life and functional outcome measures. The investigators predict that the proposed intervention, morning bright light therapy, if found effective, will be rapidly deployable and highly accepted by Veterans with TBI.

- I have a history of macular degeneration or bipolar disorder.I have had moderate to severe pain for more than 6 months.I had surgery between 6 to 12 months ago.You have used drugs or alcohol too much in the last 6-12 months.I speak English and have access to a phone.You are currently using a lightbox or negative ion generator.You have shown signs of thinking about hurting yourself.I was diagnosed with cancer in the last 6 months.You work during the night or have changing work schedules.I have been diagnosed with decisional impairment or dementia.I have trouble sleeping or staying awake, confirmed by a sleep test.
- Group 1: Morning Bright Light Therapy
- Group 2: Negative Ion Generator
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
