This trial will compare an online cognitive behavioural therapy (e-RPT) to traditional face-to-face therapy for alcohol use disorder (AUD). The aim is to create a more cost-effective, accessible form of treatment to address AUD in the general population.

- You have a serious drug addiction according to the DSM-5.If you are a man and drink more than four alcoholic drinks per day or fourteen drinks per week, or if you are a woman and drink more than three alcoholic drinks per day or seven drinks per week in the last month, you will be excluded from the trial.You are currently experiencing episodes of extreme happiness, excitement or irritability.You have been diagnosed with a mild to moderate alcohol use disorder according to the DSM-5.You have regular and dependable access to the internet.You are currently experiencing severe mental illness with symptoms such as delusions or hallucinations.You are currently having thoughts of hurting yourself or others.You are currently considering or have already stopped drinking alcohol in the past month.
- Group 1: Online relapse prevention therapy (eRPT)
- Group 2: Face-to-face relapse prevention therapy (RPT)
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
