Study Summary

This trial looks at how genes and brain activity affect cognition and behavior after drinking alcohol. The findings could improve our understanding of what causes alcohol misuse. The study involves two visits to a lab.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for right-handed individuals who drink alcohol but don't abuse drugs, have no major health issues like diabetes or HIV, and are free of psychiatric disorders. Participants must not be claustrophobic, pregnant, or have a high body mass index or metal implants that could interfere with an MRI scan.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study uses an MRI scanner to investigate how genetic factors and brain activity relate to cognitive function after consuming alcohol. It aims to understand the biological reasons behind alcohol misuse through two lab visits.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
There are generally no side effects associated with undergoing an MRI scan. However, some people might feel uncomfortable in the confined space of the scanner if they're prone to claustrophobia.
