Additionally, applicants must have an expired carbon monoxide level greater than 8 ppm and a daily cigarette consumption of 5 or more. Participants should expect to attend six weekly visits spanning five weeks and be motivated to quit smoking soon while also abstaining from marijuana and e-cigarette use in the past month. Furthermore, those enrolled may not currently be pregnant or breastfeeding nor planning pregnancy during the trial period."
