Experimental Treatment
Active Control
Group I: Motivational Interviewing (MI) goupExperimental Treatment1 Intervention
The MI experimental group will receive all the same measurements as the control group, and in addition, receive MI-based communication about fall prevention at eight occasions during the 12-month period. MI is an evidence-based communication approach for various health behavior change.
Group II: Control groupActive Control1 Intervention
The control group participants will only receive study measurements at baseline, 3-, 6-, and 12-months after the benchmark STEADI clinic visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

These questions and answers are submitted by anonymous patients, and have not been verified by our internal team.

What are the ambitions of this experiment?

"The primary objective measured over the baseline, 3-month, 6-month and 12-month periods is to quantify changes in Falls Self-Efficacy Scale - International (FESI). Secondary outcomes include an analysis of self-reported fall rates with a mail-in monthly diary; number of falls per month with 0 being the minimum value; 30 second sit to stand physiologic assessment measuring how many times participants can stand from sitting position, where zero represents the least amount and higher values indicate greater ability; and finally Patient Activation Measure which uses a 100 point quantifiable scale determining patient engagement in healthcare. A score of 0 indicates minimal"
