Arm A - blood flow restriction training for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury/Tear
Study Summary
This trial will compare two different blood flow restriction training programs to see if one improves leg strength and function more than the other in conjunction with standard rehabilitation for those who will or have had ACL reconstruction. There will be no charge to the participant for their physical therapy visits.

- You had surgeries or health conditions that might affect the way you walk.You are allergic to Betadine or Xylocaine HCL.You have had blood clots in your veins in the past or have a family history of blood clots. You also have varicose veins.You have had spinal fusion surgery.You have a torn ACL and have not had surgery to repair it in either leg before.You have a medical condition other than an ACL or meniscus injury that affects your walking.You have diabetes or high blood pressure that is not well-controlled.You have inflammation, bleeding issues or infection in your lower limbs that are happening now or have happened recently.You have a medical device implanted in your body.Any injuries that happened more than ten weeks before joining the study.
- Group 1: Arm A - Blood flow restriction training
- Group 2: Arm B - standard of care plus sham
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
