VRGAIT Trial Summary

This trial will help researchers develop a VR training program that can help people with movement disorders modify their pelvic motion during gait.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals with an abnormal gait due to a unilateral traumatic trans-tibial or transfemoral amputation. Participants must be able to walk for at least 15 minutes, have good muscle strength on the non-affected side, and use a specific type of prosthetic socket. They should not have severe pain, blindness, significant brain injuries, heart or lung issues that limit activity, or PTSD that could worsen by joining.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing a virtual reality-based gait training program that provides real-time feedback to help improve pelvic motion during walking. It's designed as a repeated measures study where participants' progress will be closely monitored and assessed quantitatively.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves physical therapy using virtual reality rather than medication, typical drug side effects are not expected. However, participants may experience fatigue or discomfort from the increased physical activity.
