Study Summary

This trial looks at the effects of regular visits from a medical professional on the mental and physical health of elderly people who are not in good health, and whether these visits improve their overall wellbeing.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for older adults (65+) living in Montreal with a precarious state, as defined by a score of ≥30 on a specific questionnaire. Participants must be able to understand and write in French, English, or Chinese, have internet access and an electronic device. Those who are severely frail, enrolled in another clinical trial, live in residence, have moderate to severe mobility issues or are under palliative care cannot join.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is looking at how visiting the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts affects the psychological well-being, health status, social connections and personal interactions among older individuals with precarity. It aims to see if these museum visits can change their level of precarity.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves guided tours at a museum rather than medical treatments or drugs there are no typical side effects; however participants may experience fatigue or emotional responses from engaging with art.
