- You have more than one cancerous tumor at the same time or have tumors in both sides of your body.You have already received chemotherapy treatment for your specific type of cancer.You have a serious bacterial or fungal infection that requires treatment with antibiotics given through a vein.You have a type of cancer that started in your mouth, throat, sinuses, or salivary glands.You had an allergic reaction to the study drugs in the past.You have a serious health condition that is currently active and needs ongoing medical attention.You have had a severe respiratory illness or flare-up of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) that required you to stay in the hospital or would prevent you from participating in the study for the past month.
- Group 1: IMRT + cisplatin + placebo
- Group 2: IMRT + cisplatin + lapatinib
