Study Summary

This trial is testing a vaccine to treat metastatic melanoma. The vaccine may help the body build an immune response to kill melanoma cells.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults with metastatic melanoma that can't be removed by surgery. Participants must have skin, under-skin, or lymph node metastases, at least three lesions suitable for injection and biopsy, and show an immune response to a recent smallpox vaccine or other antigens. They cannot join if they are pregnant/nursing, have severe kidney/liver disease, weakened immunity (or live with someone who does), received chemotherapy or steroids recently, or have another cancer within the last 3 years.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing a vaccine therapy's ability to stimulate the body's immune system to fight against melanoma cells in patients with advanced skin cancer. It's in Phase I/II which means it’s early in development but also looking at how effective it might be.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Possible side effects of the vaccine may include reactions at the injection site like redness and swelling, flu-like symptoms such as fever and fatigue, allergic reactions to components of the vaccine preparation could occur.
