Study Summary

This trial is testing whether cannabidiol (CBD) can help people with severe alcohol use disorder. It is a double-blind, randomized study, which means that neither the participants nor the researchers will know who is receiving CBD and who is receiving placebo until the study is over. The study will last for 8 weeks, and participants will be assessed at several points during and after the study.

600mg/day Saline taken by mouth (PO) for 4 weeks, immediately followed by 1200mg saline/ day (PO) for an additional 4 weeks (8 total weeks).
