- You have a severe injury that needs surgery, like a torn ligament that is completely torn or a bone that is fractured.You currently have lower back pain or other related symptoms.You currently smoke cigarettes.You feel lightheaded or dizzy when you stand up, or your blood pressure drops significantly when you stand up.You have diabetes, heart problems, kidney problems, or liver problems.You have had surgery for an aneurysm and it is not safe for you to have an MRI scan.You have metal fragments in your eyes, brain, or spinal cord from things like shrapnel, metal work, or welding.You have a fear of small, enclosed spaces.You have had a moderate or severe hamstring injury in the past week.You have previously injured your hamstring on the same side or have ongoing long-term symptoms.You participate in intense sports like football, basketball, or soccer for more than 100 hours per year.
