Visual-acoustic biofeedback for Speech Sound Disorder (C-RESULTS Trial)
C-RESULTS Trial Summary
This trial is for children who have a speech sound disorder that has not resolved itself by late school-age. This can negatively affect the child's social and emotional development, as well as their socioeconomic future. The trial will use technologically enhanced sensory feedback to improve speech in children who have not responded to previous intervention.

Who is running the clinical trial?
Frequently Asked Questions
Is enrollment still available for this investigation?
"Based on the information provided by clinicaltrials.gov, this trial is now closed to recruitment. The study was initially posted in March of 2019 and last updated in December 2021. However, there are 12 other studies presently recruiting patients across various sites."
Has the FDA sanctioned Biofeedback-ultrasound as a viable treatment option?
"Given the limited clinical data around Biofeedback-ultrasound, it received a score of 1 on our team's safety assessment scale. This is due to this being a Phase 1 trial which implies that there is cursory evidence for both efficacy and security."
Could I potentially qualify to join this examination?
"This research study is recruiting a cohort of 7 individuals with speech sound disorder, between the ages of 9 and 15. Candidates must meet an array of criteria: be proficient in English as their mother tongue, demonstrate 0-5% accuracy when articulating /r/ syllabically during initial Dynamic Assessment, pass pure tone hearing screening at 20 decibels HL, possess oral structure and function suitable for this trial; exhibit less than thirty percent accuracy on word level phonetic contexts related to /r/, and fit either primary auditory or somatosensory deficits profiles specified by trained listeners."
Is it possible for those over 75 years of age to join this trial?
"This research study is open to participants between the ages of 9 and 15, in adherence with the specified inclusion criteria."
