This trial is testing if a drug called risperidone is safe to use with cocaine, and how it affects the body and mind.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for men and women aged 21-50 who are diagnosed with cocaine dependence according to DSM-IV criteria. Participants must agree to the study's terms and sign a consent form. It excludes those with seizure history, psychiatric disorders needing medication, pregnant or nursing women, alcohol or sedative dependency, acute hepatitis, or any unsafe medical conditions.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing the safety of risperidone in relation to cocaine use and its interaction. It aims to see how risperidone pre-treatment changes the way people feel (subjective) and their body responds (physiological effects) when they take cocaine.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Possible side effects of risperidone may include drowsiness, weight gain, dizziness upon standing up quickly, restlessness or an urge to move around (akathisia), muscle stiffness or tremors.
