Study Summary

This trial will test whether web-based Motivational Interviewing is effective in enhancing physical activity participation, and will assess the mechanisms by which it does so.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults who have been referred by their doctors due to not meeting the CDC guidelines for aerobic activity. Participants must be cleared by a physician to engage in physical activity, and they need to have internet access and an email account. People already taking more than 10,000 steps per day are excluded.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if a web-based program using Motivational Interviewing (MI) can boost physical activity compared to just providing information online. It will also explore how MI might change thinking patterns related to exercise habits.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves motivational interviewing via the web without any medical or pharmaceutical components, there are no direct side effects associated with typical clinical trials.
