Frequently Asked Questions
What are the ultimate goals of this clinical investigation?
"This trial is set to run for approximately six months, and its primary aim is to assess the influence of palatable meal consumption on D2BP in participants with a broad BMI range. Using [11C]raclopride as an estimate, secondary objectives include inspecting correlations between GABA levels measured via MRS and striatal binding potentials evaluated using [18F]fallypride. Furthermore, exploratory analyses will evaluate how these metrics are associated with participant's BMI while they complete cognitive tasks related to food intake and self-control. Female volunteers may also need to take urine pregnancy tests prior to participating; any positive results will render"
Is the research team still recruiting participants for this experiment?
"Unfortunately, according to clinicaltrials.gov records this medical trial is not presently recruiting patients; the posting was first published on September 21st 2018 and last edited on June 30th 2022. However, there remain 1,943 other studies that are actively looking for participants at present."
How many participants is this clinical trial currently accommodating?
"At the moment, this trial is no longer accepting candidates. Initially posted on September 21st 2018, and last updated on June 30th 2022, there are 1941 obesity-related clinical trials actively seeking patients in addition to two studies for this treatment that require additional enrollees."
Is this treatment being tested in other scientific experiments?
"Currently, two clinical trials are exploring this treatment's effectiveness and none of them have moved beyond phase 3. While Bethesda is one hub for research on the medication, other study sites exist too."
