This trial is looking at how African Americans react to salt in their diet to see if there is a difference in how their bodies process it.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for U.S.-born African American adults aged 21-65, who previously participated in GENE-FORECAST and have normal blood pressure. It's not for those with heart disease, stroke, diabetes, liver/kidney diseases, or on certain medications. Pregnant/breastfeeding individuals or those unable to consent are also excluded.Check my eligibility

Group I: WASHOUT OUT PERIODActive Control1 Intervention
Participant will have a wash-out period for three-weeks.
Group II: PERIOD 1Placebo Group2 Interventions
Participant will be instructed to take 3 pills per day for a total of 3 grams. Participant will take Sodium Chloride or placebo for a two week period.
Group III: PERIOD 2Placebo Group2 Interventions
Participant will be instructed to take 3 pills per day for a total of 3 grams. Participant will take Sodium Chloride or placebo for a two week period.
