What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial explores how migration history affects the quality of life for Black immigrant prostate cancer (CaP) survivors. Researchers aim to understand the various social and environmental factors impacting these individuals' experiences in the U.S. Participants will engage in interviews to share their stories and insights. Men who identify as Black or African American, have been diagnosed with prostate cancer in the last 10 years, and have a U.S. address are suitable for this study. As an unphased trial, this study provides a unique opportunity to contribute personal experiences to enhance understanding and support for Black immigrant prostate cancer survivors.

Will I have to stop taking my current medications?

The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications.

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Researchers are excited about this trial because it aims to explore the social determinants of health (SDOH) model to understand prostate cancer among Black immigrants. Unlike traditional treatments that focus primarily on medical interventions, this approach involves interviews to gather insights into how social factors like environment, economic status, and community impact prostate cancer outcomes. By using this novel method, the trial seeks to uncover potentially overlooked influences on health that could lead to more personalized and effective strategies for prevention and treatment in this specific population.
