What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of active video gaming participation in otherwise sedentary patients with obesity and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study will assess improvement in weight and Hemoglobin A1c, as well as other complications related to obesity that is monitored in clinic.

Inclusion Criteria

Patients followed at the University of Miami Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic
I have obesity and type 2 diabetes.
I am between 5 and 18 years old.

Exclusion Criteria

I am an adult who cannot give consent for myself.
I have a condition that limits my ability to be physically active.
Patients without Televisions at home

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

Treatment

Participants use the Nex Playground gaming console several times per week for 12 months
