What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

The goal of this pilot study is to assess the safety and feasibility of regular diet after surgical removal of the colon. The study will enroll patients preoperatively, prior to colon surgery, and will follow participants for up to 30 days. The study hypothesizes that simplifying nutritional recommendations is safe and may improve quality of life.

Inclusion Criteria

I am 18 years old or older.
I am scheduled to have surgery to remove part of my colon or rectum.

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

1-2 weeks

Preoperative

Participants are enrolled preoperatively before colon surgery

1 week

Treatment

Participants are placed on a regular diet after surgery

30 days

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for safety, quality of life, and healthcare resource utilization

30 days
