What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

The goal of this study is to test whether providing various social resources (transportation support through Lyft rides, housing support through Hyatt House LA, and meal support through Project Angel Food LA) will reduce treatment delays and increase treatment uptake for patients with liver cancer.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

Inclusion Criteria

I am 18 years old or older.
Uninsured or underinsured (i.e., Medicaid as primary or secondary insurance)
Able to provide informed consent

Exclusion Criteria

My liver tumor is not hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
My liver disease is very advanced and my liver does not function well.
Incarcerated patients or pregnant patients

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

2-4 weeks

Intervention

Participants receive social support interventions including transportation, housing, and meal support to improve treatment adherence

90 days
Frequent touchpoints with healthcare system

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for treatment uptake and health outcomes

2 years
Regular follow-up visits as per clinic schedule

Patient-reported outcomes assessment

Assessment of financial toxicity and quality of life using FACIT-COST and FACT-HEP surveys

6 months
