Trial Summary

Will I have to stop taking my current medications?

The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications.

What data supports the effectiveness of the treatment Placement Success Predictor (PSP) for adolescent mental health wellness?

The research highlights the importance of using data-driven methods to identify youth at risk for treatment failure, which can help in tailoring interventions like PSP. Additionally, tools like the Health of the Nation Outcome Scales for Children and Adolescents (HoNOSCA) have been shown to predict the need for hospitalization, suggesting that similar predictive tools can be effective in managing mental health treatment outcomes.12345

How does the Placement Success Predictor (PSP) treatment differ from other treatments for adolescent mental health wellness?

The Placement Success Predictor (PSP) treatment is unique because it uses a classification system based on initial mental health problem profiles to predict clinical outcomes and remission in adolescents, allowing for more personalized and informed treatment plans compared to standard approaches.16789

What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this randomized clinical trial is to test the efficacy of a new clinical decision support tool, Placement Success Predictor (PSP). PSP will provide placement-specific predictions about the likelihood of a youth having a good outcome in each placement type using machine learning algorithms. The primary hypothesis is that if clinical team members have access to PSP results for youth in the experimental group, these youth will have better outcomes at the 3-month follow-up compared to youth in the control group.

Interventions

  • Placement Success Predictor (PSP)
Trial Overview The study is testing a new tool called Placement Success Predictor (PSP), which uses machine learning to predict how well a youth might do in different care settings. The clinical teams will use PSP results to make decisions, and outcomes will be compared after 3 months.

Group I: Access to PSP site-specific placement prediction scores for that youthExperimental Treatment1 Intervention
The PSP system will provide site-specific placement success prediction scores \[i.e., client's likelihood of success per placement based on machine learning models\] for each youth randomized to this condition in the efficacy study.
Group II: No PSP site-specific placement prediction scores for that youthActive Control1 Intervention
