What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

Patients admitted with exertional rhabdomyolysis will be offered treatment with battlefield acupuncture for pain management and compared with patient's pain levels and pain medication requirements with those patients who declined battlefield acupuncture.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

Inclusion Criteria

I have had rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown).
I have chosen to receive battlefield acupuncture.

Exclusion Criteria

I do not want to receive battlefield acupuncture.
My symptoms started more than 72 hours ago.
I do not have any pain.

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

1-2 days

Treatment

Patients receive battlefield acupuncture for pain control during inpatient treatment of exertional rhabdomyolysis

Up to 7 days
Daily monitoring during hospital stay

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for pain levels and medication use after treatment

12 months
