Social and Genetic Factors for Lymphoma Survivors
What You Need to Know Before You Apply
What is the purpose of this trial?
This trial aims to understand how social and genetic factors affect the health of young adults who have survived Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Researchers collect blood samples and health information to identify factors that might increase the likelihood of health issues after cancer treatment. This study targets individuals who were between 15-39 years old at diagnosis, have completed their treatment, and are not currently receiving cancer therapy. Participants will complete health questionnaires and provide blood samples multiple times over two years. As an unphased trial, this study offers participants the opportunity to contribute to valuable research that could improve long-term health outcomes for cancer survivors.
Do I have to stop taking my current medications for the trial?
The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications. However, you must not be receiving active therapy for Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Why are researchers excited about this trial?
Researchers are excited about this trial because it explores how social and genetic factors influence the health outcomes of young cancer survivors, which is a fresh angle compared to standard treatments focusing solely on medical interventions. Unlike typical cancer treatments that may include surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation, this approach uses observational methods like questionnaires and blood samples to gather data. This could lead to insights that help personalize care and improve quality of life for survivors by considering their social environment and genetic makeup.
