AI Tool for Skin Conditions
What You Need to Know Before You Apply
What is the purpose of this trial?
This trial aims to test a new AI tool that assists primary care providers by offering reference images for skin conditions. The goal is to evaluate how well providers can assess skin issues using this tool compared to a panel of expert dermatologists. The AI functions like a smart image search, providing doctors with additional information, but the final diagnosis relies on the provider's expertise. Individuals visiting a clinic with a skin issue and capable of using a smartphone to take images are well-suited for this trial. As an unphased trial, participants contribute to innovative research that may enhance future assessments of skin conditions.
Why are researchers excited about this trial?
Researchers are excited about the AI tool for skin conditions because it represents a significant advancement in how skin disorders are diagnosed and managed. Unlike traditional methods, which rely heavily on visual examination and manual assessment by dermatologists, this AI tool uses advanced algorithms to analyze skin images and provide precise diagnoses. This technology could lead to faster, more accurate identification of conditions like eczema or psoriasis, potentially improving outcomes by enabling earlier intervention. Additionally, the AI tool has the potential to make dermatological expertise more accessible, especially in areas with limited access to specialists.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
This trial is for primary care providers who diagnose skin conditions. It's designed to see if an AI-powered dermatology image reference app can help them in their assessments. Providers must use their medical judgement, not the AI, to make diagnoses.Inclusion Criteria

Timeline for a Trial Participant
Screening
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial
Initial Consultation
Participants have an initial appointment where providers examine the patient, document their history, and diagnose the condition. The BellePro Physician App is used to capture images and generate a differential diagnosis.
Image Submission and AI Analysis
Participants submit images using the app starting seven days after enrollment. Providers reassess the diagnosis using updated AI analysis.
Follow-up
Participants are monitored for diagnostic accuracy and utility of the AI tool. A follow-up appointment is scheduled two weeks after the initial consultation.
