Biofield Patch for Antioxidant Status
What You Need to Know Before You Apply
What is the purpose of this trial?
This trial tests a special skin patch, known as a biofield patch, to determine its effects on antioxidant and mitochondrial function (how well cells produce energy). Participants will use both an active patch and a placebo (inactive patch) to compare the effects. The study aims to determine if the biofield patch truly makes a difference. It seeks healthy adults with visible veins who can adhere to specific lifestyle guidelines during the study. This trial might suit those who can maintain a consistent diet and routine and are comfortable with blood draws. As an unphased trial, it offers participants the chance to contribute to innovative research that could lead to new health insights.
Will I have to stop taking my current medications?
Yes, if you are currently taking prescription weight loss drugs, cholesterol-lowering medication, or anxiolytic, hypnotic, or anti-depressant prescription medication, you will need to stop taking them to participate in this trial.
What prior data suggests that the Biofield Patch is safe?
Research has shown that the Biofield Patch is generally safe for use. One study found it non-toxic and harmless to cells, indicating it is well-tolerated when used as directed. Other research highlights that the patch can increase antioxidant levels without causing major side effects. Overall, current evidence supports the safety of the Biofield Patch in enhancing antioxidant function.12345
Why are researchers excited about this trial?
Researchers are excited about the Biofield Patch because it represents a novel approach to enhancing antioxidant status. Unlike traditional antioxidant supplements that are ingested, this patch is applied to the skin, potentially offering a non-invasive and convenient alternative. The Biofield Patch works by emitting subtle energy fields that may influence the body's natural antioxidant functions, a mechanism quite different from the chemical-based methods of existing treatments. This innovative delivery method and mechanism of action have the potential to provide quicker and more direct benefits, sparking interest in its possible advantages over current options.
What evidence suggests that the Biofield Patch is effective for antioxidant and mitochondrial function?
In this trial, participants will test the Biofield Patch, which research suggests might increase antioxidant activity. Antioxidants protect cells from damage. Studies have found that the Biofield Patch raises levels of key antioxidants like superoxide dismutase, which breaks down harmful oxygen molecules in cells, and glutathione, a strong antioxidant. Additionally, studies suggest that the Biofield Patch may reduce inflammation, the body's response to injury or infection. This could help protect cells and improve overall health. Participants will experience both the active Biofield Patch and a placebo patch in a crossover design to evaluate these potential benefits.16789
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
This trial is for healthy adults aged 18-75 with a BMI of 18.0 to 34.9 who don't drink coffee, tea, or soft drinks an hour before clinic visits. Participants must have visible veins for blood draws, eat bland breakfasts on visit days, and maintain their diet and lifestyle during the study. They should avoid exercise and supplements on the morning of a visit.Inclusion Criteria

Timeline for a Trial Participant
Screening
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial
Treatment
Participants wear a placebo patch versus an active biofield patch for 12 hours on each of the two clinic days, with a 1-week wash-out period between each product
Open-label extension
Participants wear the active patch each day for 1 week until the final clinic visit
Follow-up
Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment
What Are the Treatments Tested in This Trial?
Interventions
- Biofield Patch
- Placebo dermal patch
Trial Overview
The study tests a biofield skin patch against a placebo to see if it improves antioxidant function and energy production in cells. It's double-blind (neither researchers nor participants know who gets what) and uses a cross-over design so everyone receives both treatments at different times.

Experimental Treatment
Participants wear a placebo patch versus an active biofield patch for 12 hours on each of the two clinic days, at least 1 week apart, allowing for 1 week wash-out period between each product. The order of interventions for this group is B, A. Following the blinded phase there will be an open-label phase where participants wear the patch each day for 1 week until the final clinic visit.
