What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial focuses on understanding and finding treatments for Alzheimer's disease (AD) by studying its progression and the brain's aging process. Researchers use a broad range of techniques, including brain imaging and genetic studies, to discover new ways to address Alzheimer's and understand normal cognitive aging. Individuals who are cognitively healthy, have mild memory issues, or have dementia and are open to health assessments and blood donation for research might be suitable participants. The goal is to uncover insights that could lead to better treatments or even prevention of Alzheimer's. As a Phase 3 trial, this study represents the final step before FDA approval, offering participants a chance to contribute to a potentially groundbreaking treatment.

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Researchers are excited about this trial at the Arizona Alzheimer's Disease Research Center because it aims to uncover new insights into Alzheimer's disease, a condition typically treated with medications like donepezil and memantine. Unlike current treatments that mainly focus on managing symptoms, this trial may explore innovative approaches or uncover new biological targets that could lead to better understanding and potentially more effective therapies. By participating in this trial, researchers hope to pave the way for breakthroughs that could significantly impact the future management of Alzheimer's disease.
