What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this clinical trial is to see whether the Healthy Minds Program (HMP) is practical to use, well-received, and shows early signs of helping people who have recently experienced suicidal thoughts or behaviors.

Participants will:

* complete questionnaires

* use HMP app for 4 weeks

Inclusion Criteria

Age 18 or older
English speaking
I have had thoughts of suicide in the past month.

Exclusion Criteria

I am unable to understand the study procedures.
Not fluent in English
Being unable to verify their identity

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

1 week
1 visit (virtual)

Baseline Assessment

Participants complete a baseline video visit including questionnaires and interviews about mood, well-being, and suicidal thoughts, and create an individualized safety plan

1 day
1 visit (virtual)

Treatment

Participants use the Healthy Minds Program app for mindfulness and well-being practices, complete weekly surveys, and engage in guided practices across four skill areas

4 weeks
Weekly surveys (virtual)

Post-Intervention Assessment

Participants complete a post-intervention video visit that repeats key interview and questionnaire measures and assesses the usability and helpfulness of the app

1 day
1 visit (virtual)

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment

4 weeks
