      Health Coaching for Sleep Apnea

      The goal of this clinical trial is to learn how integrating health and wellness coaching (HWC) with Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy affects adherence to treatment and overall health outcomes in individuals with obstructive sleep apnea. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does HWC improve CPAP adherence compared to standard care, in terms of device usage metrics (hours per night and days per month)? * How does combining HWC with weight management influence CPAP adherence and weight loss? * What are the differences in treatment outcomes between individuals receiving standard care and those receiving HWC? Researchers will compare two groups: * Standard Care Group: Participants receiving standard CPAP therapy without additional health coaching. * HWC Group: Participants receiving CPAP therapy combined with health and wellness coaching focused on weight management and sleep hygiene. Participants will: * Attend 2 in-office visits with a study physician (2 hours maximum) * Have 6 virtual visits via video with a study health coach (3 hours maximum) if in the HWC group This study aims to provide valuable insights into enhancing treatment outcomes for individuals with sleep apnea by integrating health coaching with CPAP therapy.

      The goals of this observational study is to assess whether a new advanced wireless skin sensor vital sign monitoring system can effectively monitor the vital signs of healthy newborn infants (≥ 35 weeks gestational age).       Super-Oxygenated Water for Volunteers

      Westlake Village, California
      Therapeutic delivery of additional oxygen to blood stream via hyperbaric and extracorporeal oxygenation that raise blood Oxygen saturation level, apart from oxygenation in the lungs, are known to induce tissue repair, restore normal body functions and improve survival. Despite the clinical benefits obtained from these interventions, Oxygen supplementation is rather a medically involved process requiring access to specialized equipment including hyperbaric chambers, cardiac catheterization laboratory and extracorporeal oxygenators, and is not generally amenable for everyday use. The current prospective study will evaluate a non-invasive route for Oxygen delivery through ingestion of super-oxygenated water in adult volunteers. The participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups viz. super-oxygenated water or placebo control normal water at 1:1 ratio. Neither the participants nor the study doctor will know the treatment assignment. Pre- and Post-ingestion measurements will be conducted to evaluate effect of super-oxygenated water.

      Enhanced Vitals Monitoring for Surgery

      The aim of this clinical trial is to examine the feasibility of an enhanced vital sign monitoring solution in-hospital and at-home. This study includes adult patients undergoing inpatient major vascular or abdominal surgery. Researchers will compare the enhanced vitals monitoring group to the standard of care group to see if it may change post-operative management and outcomes. The primary question it aims to answer is if enhanced monitoring of surgical patient vitals can increase the number of days at home alive in the first 30 days after surgery.       THRIVE (Transnasal Humidified Rapid-Insufflation Ventilatory Exchange) refers to the use of high-flow nasal cannula to augment the ability to oxygenate and ventilate a patient under general anesthesia. The use of high-flow nasal cannula oxygen supplementation during anesthesia for surgical procedures has been a recent development in the adult population, with limited data analyzing the pediatric population. This study will determine whether high flow nasal cannula oxygen supplementation during surgical or endoscopic procedures can prevent desaturation events in children under anesthesia and improve the outcomes of that surgery.

      How do Oxygen Saturation clinical trials work?

      After a researcher reviews your profile, they may choose to invite you in to a screening appointment, where they'll determine if you meet 100% of the eligibility requirements. If you do, you'll be sorted into one of the treatment groups, and receive your study drug. For some trials, there is a chance you'll receive a placebo. Across Oxygen Saturation trials 30% of clinical trials have a placebo. Typically, you'll be required to check-in with the clinic every month or so. The average trial length for Oxygen Saturation is 12 months.

      How do I participate in a study as a "healthy volunteer"?

      Not all studies recruit healthy volunteers: usually, Phase 1 studies do.       What does the "phase" of a clinical trial mean?

      The phase of a trial reveals what stage the drug is in to get approval for a specific condition. Phase 1 trials are the trials to collect safety data in humans. Phase 2 trials are those where the drug has some data showing safety in humans, but where further human data is needed on drug effectiveness. Phase 3 trials are in the final step before approval. The drug already has data showing both safety and effectiveness. As a general rule, Phase 3 trials are more promising than Phase 2, and Phase 2 trials are more promising than phase 1.

      Do I need to be insured to participate in a Oxygen Saturation medical study?

      Clinical trials are almost always free to participants, and so do not require insurance. The only exception here are trials focused on cancer, because only a small part of the typical treatment plan is actually experimental. For these cancer trials, participants typically need insurance to cover all the non-experimental components.
