FarmtoECE Trial Summary

This trial aims to improve access to healthy food and diets for low-income children under the age of five attending early childcare centers. The researchers want to see if a program called Farm to ECE can help

Who is the study for?
This trial is for directors or staff of early childcare centers who are at least 18 years old. It aims to help low-income, minority children under five by improving their access to healthy foods and nutrition education.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The Farm to ECE program is being tested over six months. It's designed to see if it can make the food environment in early childcare centers healthier, get more local fruits and veggies into kids' diets, and boost parents' knowledge about using community food resources.See study design

The intervention will include: (1) assisting ECEs with conducting self-assessments; (2) connecting ECEs with local farmers and food producers; (3) providing technical assistance for menu changes, procuring healthy food, identifying and implementing best feeding practices and policies for the environment; (4) delivering nutrition education; and (5) connecting parents/guardians with local food resources and affordable fresh food to be consumed at home
